This report describes the discussion during a symposium held in Ethiopia in 1992, where results were presented of a study of Ugandan refugees who returned from southern Sudan in the late 1980s.
Description
The report consists of six main sections which correspond to topics that served as the major foci of the discussion during the symposium: the tyranny of labels, the myth of dependency, the 'problem' of movement, the reconstruction of communities, voluntary repatriation (who decides?), from relief to development, and implications for policy and research.
