Terrestrial Vertebrate Species Locality Records

Distribution maps were compiled based on these records, along with published range maps and expert review, for the Wyoming Gap Analysis Project. The goal of this project was to identify species whose habitat is not sufficiently protected under the current existing network of conservation areas in the state.

This dataset contains the recorded locations of observed, trapped or killed vertebrate species collected from 16 separate wildlife databases maintained by state and federal agencies, conservation groups, museums, and schools in Wyoming. Most of these records were converted from township/range/section/quarters to latitude/longitude using the TRLL program.
