EDIA – Global Bird Monitoring Program of the Alqueva Dam (EFMA) Secondary Irrigation Network, irrigation block B – Eurasian Stone Curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus), winter diurnal transects [2019-2020]

The dataset contains records of the Eurasian Stone Curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus) collected in the Block B of the Secundary Irrigation Network of the Alqueva Dam (irrigation blocks of Alfundão, Ferreira-Valbom, Loureiro-Alvito, Monte novo, Pedrógão, Pisão, São Matias and Vale de Gaio), and a control area, performed within the General Bird Monitoring Plan of the area, promoted by EDIA, S.A. Data were collected in the winter of 2019-2020.

An ad-hoc number of road transects was performed to detect the target species (in the surrounding fields) using the 500 km road net of the study area. A total of five contacts from the Eurasian Stone Curlew was obtained.
