The experimental trials were conducted from 23–25 May 2022 and additional observations from 6–8 August 2026 along the main road near Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia (4º27' 46"N, 101º21' 59"E, 1360 m a.s.l.).The dataset contains 13 variables (columns) and 35 trials (rows).Spider_ID: the spider used for the experimental trial.Treatment: three treatment groups, including the complete-severance (Complete, N=8), partial-severance (Partial, N=9) and unmanipulated control (Control, N=18) of silk signal-lines.Life_stage: including juvenile and female spiders.BurrowHeight: the burrow height (mm) above the ground level.BurrowDiameter: the widest diameter (mm) of the trapdoor.FishlineNumber: the number of signal-lines.Lines_cutoff: the signal lines were severed. 0=no severed signal-lines.AttackOccurrence: the occurrence of an attack (1/0 = yes/no).AttackLatency: the time (second) interval between prey introduction and the first attack. 300 = no attack within the 5-min trial period.AttackAccuracy: attack accuracy.
