The agency created and maintained these files to support the processing of applications and permits for the importation of firearms, ammunition, and implements of war into the United States.
Description
The agency used the files to identify persons and businesses attempting to bring firearms and ammunition into the United States. This series includes data identifying the import applicant, the commodity type, dates and details concerning the application, and permit status, including denials.
