The agency created these files to serve as an introduction to the series "Local Area Personal Income Estimates Files" (ARC Identifier 620296) and the series "State Personal Income Estimates Files" (ARC Identifier 618829).
Description
This series consists of short computer - generated narratives containing statistics related to personal income for states, counties, metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), and Bureau of Economic Analysis Economic Areas.
The narratives describe an area's personal income u sing current estimates, growth rates, and a breakdown of the sources of wages and other personal income. The statistics include population, per capita personal income, total personal income by place of residence, and earnings by place of work. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
