The study involved 64 participants (mean age: 39.2 years; SD: 11.3) and was structured in two phases. In the first phase, participants viewed 3D-rendered images of six different jar-opening devices, each presented in two design variants—with and without rubber grip elements—while their gaze was recorded.

In the second phase, participants physically interacted with the same devices in a hands-on usability task. For each device, participants rated six affordances: robustness, comfort, easiness to grip, lid slipperiness, effort level, and easiness to use. The dataset includes eye-tracking metrics (e.g., fixation durations, fixation counts, and visit durations) from the visual inspection phase.
