Decarbonizing Saudi Arabia Energy and Industrial Sectors: Assessment of Carbon Capture Cost

Using a custom economic model, the study calculates capture costs highlighting significant variations influenced by economies of scale and CO₂ concentration.

Regional analysis identifies the Eastern region, with its planned CCS hub in Jubail, as a priority for deployment, while the Western region may require alternative storage solutions. These findings provide actionable insights for cost-effective CCUS implementation, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and net-zero goals.
