Verstrekkingen van geneesmiddelen op 4 posities ATC-code aan personen

Voor het gebruik van dit bestand is toestemming nodig van de dataleverancier. Dit verloopt via het team Gezondheid en Zorg (SGZ). Stuur hiervoor een bericht met een analyseplan of (samenvatting van een) onderzoeksvoorstel, waarin duidelijk aangegeven wordt waarom het gebruik van de geneesmiddelengegevens nodig is, naar SGZ Data [mailadres verborgen - neem contact op met het CBS].

SGZ zal vervolgens laten weten of de medicijntab voor het betreffende onderzoek gebruikt kan worden. This file contains data on persons to whom medicines were dispensed in the year concerned for which the costs are reimbursed under the statutory basic medical insurance. The population includes everybody registered in the municipal population register (BRP) at some point in the year concerned.

Until 2010 the figures also included medicines dispensed to persons registered in the BRP, but not resident in the Netherlands. Persons receiving medicines in hospitals and in nursing homes are not included; those receiving medicines in residential homes for the elderly are included. Dispensed medicines are classified into ATC classes (where ATC stands for Anatomic, Therapeutic, Chemical), according to the WHO (World Health Organization) drug classification system.

Data are aggregated per person to medicine groups at 4 positions ATC-code. The letter of the first position stands for the anatomical main group. The combination of this character with the first two digits gives the code for the therapeutic subgroup.

The second letter (i.e. the 4th position) stands for the pharmacological subgroup. The classification by medicine groups is based on article codes. For 2006-2009 the classification of 1 January 2010 is used.

From 2010 the classification of the year under review is used.
