Points of Origin - McInnes et al

Listed in DataCite

These data are the latitude and longitude for the points-of-origin of particles measured in sediment traps described in our paper. 10 files separated by sedimentation rate and location: global (10 m d -1 , 250 m d -1 ); HOT (10, 25, 100, 250 m d -1 ); BATS (10, 25, 100, 250 m d -1 )

Description

Method

A fine-resolution 3D ocean circulation model and tracking tool were used to simulate the pathways of virtual particles sinking at different rates (10 - 250 m day-1) to individual sediment traps at 50 m above the ocean floor where the ocean was shallower than 2000 m, and at 2000 m elsewhere.
