EDIA – Global Bird Monitoring Program of the Alqueva Dam (EFMA) Secondary Irrigation Network, irrigation block D – Eurasian Stone Curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus), winter diurnal transects [2021-2022]

The dataset contains records of the Eurasian Stone Curlew (Burhinus oedicnemus) collected in the Block D of the Secondary Irrigation Network of the Alqueva Dam (irrigation blocks of Alvarrão, Brinches, Brinches-Enxoé, Caliços-Machado, Caliços-Moura, Orada-Amoreira, Pias and Serpa) and a control area, performed within the General Bird Monitoring Plan of the area, promoted by EDIA, S.A. Data were collected in the winter of 2021-2022.

Two extended transects, using all the road network of both the impact and control areas were performed to detect the target species (in the surrounding fields). A total of three contacts from the Eurasian Stone Curlew was obtained.
