GOWTD-2000–2025: Global Offshore Wind Turbine Dataset

<p dir="ltr">This dataset provides the geocoded spatial distribution of individual offshore wind turbines (OWTs) worldwide, derived from satellite remote sensing imagery using a two-stage identification framework implemented on the Google Earth Engine platform.
Description
The dataset contains 16,469 individually geolocated turbine records spanning 17 countries and regions, primarily covering the period 2000–2025 (with one earlier record from Denmark, identified from historical imagery as installed in 1985).
Each record includes longitude, latitude, installation year, and country attributes. Extraction accuracy was validated against independent reference data, achieving an F1-score of 99.07%. The dataset is provided in Shapefile (.shp) and CSV formats, referenced to the WGS84 geographic coordinate system.
