Surveys of Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises Summary Files

This series contains basic economic summary data on businesses (individual proprietorships, partnerships, and Subchapter S corporations) owned by Blacks, persons of Hispanic origin, Asian and Pacific Islanders, American Indians and Alaska Natives, and Women. Data include both employers and non-employers.

The files provide data on the numbers of minority and women owned firms, sales and receipts, annual payroll, and employment. Data aggregates are presented for the U.S. by two-digit Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code, employment and receipt size, and legal form of organization; data at the state level are by two-digit SIC code. For the 1992 and earlier surveys, the Economic Census and Surveys Division had responsibility for these surveys.
