Adult Use of Tobacco Survey

The agency conducted this survey to provide nationally representative estimates of tobacco products usage, knowledge, attitudes and beliefs among the adult population in the United States.

Description

The agency used it to conduct analyses. This series contains information on a variety of tobacco delivery products, including snuff, chewing tobacco, cigarettes, and cigars, and the frequency and amount of use of such products by respondents.

It also includes data about the respondents' knowledge of heal th-related risks, the respondents' attempts to cease using tobacco products, and changes in warning labels on tobacco packages. Demographic data is also included, such as race, income, gender, marital status, education, and employment history. The respondents were drawn from the non-institutionalized civilian population ages 17 and older and included current smokers, former smokers, and non-smokers, as well as other tobacco product users.
