From Eocene Baltic amber a male moth imago is described. This shows a unique combination of characters among Micropterigidae. Labial palpi are probably 2 - segmented, on the forewing the apical crossvein Sc-R is absent, the crossvein R-M is very short, the cell is open in hindwing, sternum V glands are absent, and the male abdominal ventral VIII segment is absent.

This fossil is described in a new genus, Glaesopterix. Its phylogenetic and paleobiogeographical relationship is discussed.
