A new species of Mayetia Mulsant and Rey, Mayetia (Mayetia) ramon, is described from Galicia (northwest Spain). The type locality is: Monastery of Caaveiro, A Capela (A Coruña). Mayetia ramon is similar to M. (Mayetia) perezinigoi Outerelo in that both share mandibles with a simple tooth and a horseshoe shaped cleft in the male pygidial sternite.

The species’ affinities with the M. ochsi Coiffait group of species are analyzed. This species was found in the humus layer of an Atlantic mixed forest.
