This dataset contains digitized records from the historical Herbarium of Biagio Bartalini, preserved at the Museo di Storia Naturale Accademia dei Fisiocritici (MFS) in Siena.
Description
The Herbarium documents the flora of the Siena province and nearby areas during the 18th century, offering a valuable botanical and historical perspective. Original determinations by Bartalini are reported in the field verbatimIdentification.
The currently accepted scientific names, based on modern taxonomic revision, are provided in the scientificName field. Geographical coordinates were not included in the GBIF dataset due to the high level of uncertainty regarding historical localities. Where possible, descriptive locality names were retained (locality field).

The temporal coverage reflects the lifespan of Bartalini (1750–1822), although the specimens were most likely collected up until the end of the 18th century. Digital images of the Herbarium specimens are linked via the associatedMedia field.
