<p><i>B. hermsii</i> were grown in normal growth medium before shifting to RPMI medium alone or containing increasing concentrations of glycerol (A) or MG (B) for 24 h at 35°C. Cells were plated in semi-solid BSK before (0 h) and after shifting to RPMI alone (0) or increasing concentrations of glycerol or MG.
