XDA28070105-001 Soil Dataset of Thick-layer Black Soil in Hailun City During Jointing and Maturity Stages of crop
Listed in ScienceDB
Description
To address the constraints observed in the Hailun Demonstration Area—namely, the decline in soil organic matter caused by the long-term, high-intensity utilization of black soil and the imbalance between soil use and maintenance, as well as the shallowing of the plow layer and the development of a thick, compact plow pan resulting from improper tillage—a field experiment was established in 2022 in Shengli Village, Qianjin Town, Hailun City (126.80° E, 47.43° N).
The study focused on the development and application of a rapid engineering approach for constructing a fertile plow layer based on a novel natural humus product. A total of six treatments were set up: conventional planting as the control (CK1), chemical fertilizer application (CK2), chemical fertilizer + straw return + organic fertilizer (CK3), chemical fertilizer + straw return + natural humus material (T1), chemical fertilizer + straw return + straw decomposition promoter (T2), and chemical fertilizer + straw return + soil conditioner (T3).

Each treatment was replicated three times. Soil samples were collected at the jointing and maturity stages of maize from 2022 to 2025. Soil physicochemical properties, including soil organic matter, readily oxidizable organic carbon, alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen, and available phosphorus, were determined.
Combined with maize grain yield surveys, a four-year monitoring and analysis of the demonstration effects of the experiment were completed. The results showed that the application of natural humus material (T1) significantly increased the soil organic matter content in the plow layer (0–20 cm) even after three years of implementation, with an increase of approximately 4.13 g kg-1. Meanwhile, this treatment achieved yield increases for three consecutive years, by 3.06%, 3.29%, and 8.75%, respectively, indicating significant effects on improving soil organic matter and sustaining productivity in thick black soils.
