The dataset represent the review of medicinal plants used to treat and prevent viral diseases in the Ethiopian traditional herbal medicine system reveals the presence of a considerable number (387) of traditionally medicinal plants and associated indigenous and local knowledge that might be used to address emergent viral diseases in Ethiopia.
