EDIA – Global Bird Monitoring Program of the Alqueva Dam (EFMA) Secondary Irrigation Network, Irrigation Block Alvito-Pisão and Cuba IBA: Calandra Lark (Melkanocorypha calandra) and other steppe birds [winter, 2016-2017]

Description

The dataset contains records of steppe birds, and particularly of Calandra Lark (Melanocorypha calandra, Aves) collected in an area of the Secondary Irrigation Network of the Alqueva Dam (Block A: Alvito-Pisão) and in the Important Bird Area (IBA) of Cuba, in the framework of the General Bird Monitoring Plan of the area, promoted by EDIA, S.A. Data were collected in the winter of 2016/2017, in a subsample of 49 original sampling stations distributed in the area affected by the Irrigation Block (16 “impact” points) and in a control (IBA) area (33 “control” points), in habitats suited to this group of birds.

A total of 909 contacts was obtained, for 13 species of steppe birds.
