This dataset contains records of American manatee (Trichechus manatus) strandings collected since 2009 along the coast of Alagoas, northeastern Brazil, by Instituto Biota de Conservação.
Description
The records were obtained through systematic beach monitoring and opportunistic reports from local communities, including both live and dead stranded individuals. The dataset includes information on the date and location of each stranding, geographic coordinates, biological characteristics, carcass condition, morphometric measurements, sex, age class, cause of death (when determined), and other associated biological and environmental data.
