This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Mechanisms Underlying the Effect of Visual Interference on Numerical Processing Across Different Ranges.” It contains de-identified experimental data, data documentation, and related MATLAB experimental programs for Experiments 1a, 1b, and 2.
Description
Experiment 1 investigated the effects of visual interference on the estimation of small, moderate, and large numerosities. Experiment 2 further examined the mechanism underlying the interference effect on large-number processing by comparing numerosity and density discrimination tasks.
The dataset can be used to reproduce the analyses of coefficient of variation, interference cost, and Weber fraction reported in the manuscript. The files contain no directly identifying participant information.
