Single master gravity and aeromagnetic data for Ontario

Beginning in 1947, systematic aeromagnetic surveys were conducted over the whole of Ontario. The surveys were performed for the Geological Surveys of Canada and the Ontario Department of Mines and completed in 1987.

Also beginning in 1947, ground gravity data were collected across Ontario by Federal-Provincial programs and external initiatives. Digital gravity data were provided by Geodetic Survey Division, Geomatics Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Ontario Geological Survey. Survey Parameters: Line spacing: 800 m (half-mile) Magnetic survey type: total field Magnetometer height: 300 m (1000 ft) Gravity survey: yes No. of gravity stations: 55639 This data is best viewed using Google Earth or similar Keyhole Markup Language (KML) compatible software.
