Multistratigraphic dataset for the Carnian–Norian at Pink Mountain, British Columbia (palaeomagnetic, mineral magnetic, mineralogical and carbon isotopes)

<p dir="ltr">The dataset here includes all palaeomagnetic, rock magnetic, carbon isotope, x-ray-diffraction data, which contributes to the following conclusions at Pink Mountain, British Columbia.</p><p dir="ltr"><br></p><p dir="ltr">Extension of Late Triassic geomagnetic polarity records to the conodont and ammonoid dated successions of the North American Cordillera has proved problematic due to widespread remagnetizations.

This theme is addressed by utilising a conodont dated succession in two sections from Pink Mountain on the eastern edge of the Cordilleran deformation front. Significantly these display the transitional <i>transformis</i> Zone between typically Lacian (lower Norian) and Alaunian (middle Norian) conodont faunas of the <i>triangularis</i> and <i>multidentata</i> zones respectively. A newly recognized positive carbon-isotope excursion occurs coincident with the base of the <i>transformis </i>Zone.
