This dataset supports the manuscript entitled "SIZ1 and ESD4 Mediate Reversible SUMOylation of SnRK2.6 via Direct Interaction" (submitted to Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics, Manuscript ID: [20260012]).
Description
The data were generated from experiments conducted at the School of Life Sciences, Hebei Normal University, between September 2021 and June 2024, focusing on SUMOylation and deSUMOylation modifications.The dataset documents the interactions between SnRK2.6 and the SUMO E3 ligase SIZ1, as well as the SUMO protease family.
It provides evidence that SnRK2.6 undergoes reversible SUMO modification, which is removed by the SUMO protease ESD4. Additionally, genetic analysis reveals that SnRK2.6 exhibits increased stability in the siz1mutant background. The data also clarify the genetic relationship between SnRK2.6 and SIZ1 in ABA-induced stomatal closure.

This work establishes a foundation for exploring novel post-translational modifications (PTMs) of the key ABA signaling component SnRK2.6 and elucidates the molecular mechanisms underlying PTM-mediated regulation of its physiological functions.
