G²LM|LIC - LinkinOut Harassment: A Targeted Social Media Experiment to Reduce Workplace Harassment towards Women
Listed in IDSC Dataverse
LinkinOut Harassment is a G²LM|LIC research project that evaluates whether targeted behavioural interventions delivered through LinkedIn can reduce workplace sexual harassment against women in India.
Description
Using a cluster randomized controlled trial, the project examines the effects of large-scale social media campaigns on attitudes, workplace behaviour, reporting, and women’s labour market outcomes. Dataset Description This data collection combines randomized experimental data with original survey data collected through LinkedIn’s advertising and messaging platform.
The datasets document both behavioural interventions and survey responses related to workplace harassment, gender attitudes, labour market experiences, workplace norms, reporting behaviour, and psychological well-being among employees in corporate India. The data include baseline and endline survey responses from female employees, survey responses from male employees exposed to different behavioural interventions, randomized firm-level treatment assignments, intervention exposure measures, advertisement engagement metrics, and experimental treatment indicators.

Survey instruments collect detailed information on multiple forms of workplace harassment, reporting decisions, perceived workplace safety, labour market outcomes, job satisfaction, willingness-to-pay for safer workplaces, gender norms, and attitudes toward workplace misconduct. Participant recruitment and intervention delivery were conducted using LinkedIn’s matched audience targeting, allowing firms to be pre-randomized into treatment and control groups while minimizing spillovers between experimental arms.
Targeting parameters include firm affiliation, gender, industry, and geographic location. The study additionally records campaign performance indicators such as impressions, click-through rates, and exposure metrics that complement the survey data. GLMLIC-Policy-Brief_074.pdf The resulting datasets provide a unique resource for studying workplace harassment, gender norms, behavioural change, digital interventions, labour market behaviour, and experimental methods using online professional networks.
