Multi-perspective simulation: Constructing local wisdom-based programs in health promotion

This article presents a multi-perspective simulation model as a semester-long pedagogical strategy designed to address this gap. Inspired by emergency simulation models commonly used in clinical education, the activity engages students in structured role-play as diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, health-care practitioners, patients, family members, and administrators.

Grounded in the principles of local wisdom, the model engages students in iterative cycles of simulation, reflection, and the redesign of health promotion programs. Through role rotation and guided debriefing, students identify communication gaps and develop culturally responsive and ethically grounded interventions. Findings indicate improvements in students’ communication competence, empathy, ability to integrate theory and practice, and reflective thinking.
