Methane emission rate measurements from non-producing oil and gas wells in Canada

All measurements were performed using the static chamber methodology, as described in the Supporting Information (SI-3) of the related publication. In Alberta and Saskatchewan, we measured the wellhead infrastructure and the surface casing vent separately (see column “Component”).

We include the well attributes investigated in our study (i.e., type, status, operator, wellbore deviation, well depth (meters), age (years) and well density (wells/km2)). Refer to the Supporting Information (SI-1) of the related publication for more details on well attribute definition and classification.
