The agency prepared the PEDB to assist government and private users in predicting future supplies and prices of agricultural commodities This series contains historic estimates of livestock and crop production, price values, and the numbers of farms and slaughterhouses throughout the United States.
Description
The data represents either state-level monthly, quarterly and semi-annual estimates, or county-level annual estimates. Many of the files based on the state-level aggregates contain annual and na tional totals.
The agricultural commodities include varieties of field crops, fruits and vegetables; livestock such as cattle, calves, sheep, swine, horses, goats, poultry, and fish; and dairy products and fur. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC). See the ARC catalog entry for this series for more information on this data and how to order it.
