Stretchable and self-healing polymer nanocomposite hydrogel−based supercapacitors

Stretchable supercapacitors are promising energy storage devices for next-generation wearable and stretchable devices, but achieving stable and durable electrical energy output under various deformation conditions such as stretching, bending, and twisting remains challenging.
Description
Supercapacitors typically feature a three-layer structure, with an electrolyte layer sandwiched between two electrode layers. In this thesis, novel stretchable and self-healing nanocomposite hydrogel electrodes and electrolytes were prepared for assembling intrinsically stretchable and self-healing all-in-one hydrogel-based supercapacitors.
Two primary nanocomposite hydrogel systems for this application were explored in this thesis. <br><br><i>Thesis is embargoed until 31 July 2028</i>.
