Feasibility study of thermal neutron/proton detection in a lunar-surface-like environment using Cs2LiYCl6:Ce detector

The transmitted protons emerging from the aluminum foil interacted with the RW3 solid water phantom with the geometry of 30 cm × 30 cm × 30 cm, placed downstream of the aluminum foil. The RW3 solid water phantom, with a density of 1.045 g/cm3 , comprises four elements—hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, and titanium—present in a mass ratio of 0.076:0.904:0.008:0.012. The CLYC detector was positioned 15.0 cm away from the center of the aluminum foil, with its axis set perpendicular to the beam direction.
