COVID-19 Pandemic: Nigerian University Lecturers' Response to Virtual Orientation

This article presents the data set on the responses of Nigeria’s universities lecturers both in the public and private-owned to the sudden paradigmatic shift to online/virtual teaching method occasioned by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Description
The questionnaire design is a quantitative one with the aim of eliciting the views of lecturers on the level of preparedness of the Nigerian universities, the inhibiting factors for their compliance to the government directives on the shift to online teaching, the convenience and effectiveness of the online teaching method and the utilized social media/ online teaching platforms.
The data consist of 435 valid responses from Nigeria’s universities lecturers generated through the Google form administered via the WhatsApp platform.
