Data on the effect of the catalyst's electrical conductivity on the performance of thermal catalytic synthesis gas conversion to low-carbon alcohols

Listed in ScienceDB

The crystal phase structure of the catalyst was characterized using a D/max-2500 X-ray diffractometer from Rigaku, Japan.

Description

The diffractometer's radiation source was Cu Kα, with a voltage of 30 kV and a current of 15 mA, a scanning range of 5° to 85°, and a scanning rate of 5°/min. The crystal particle size was calculated using the Scherrer equation.Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis The surface topography of the sample was observed using the JSM-6010PLUS/LV field emission electron microscope.

The samples were treated with gold spraying and the accelerated process voltage was 20 kV.The electrochemical impedance (EIS) test uses the VersaSTAT4 electrochemical workstation, the frequency range is 0.01~100000 Hz, the amplitude disturbance is 5 mV, and the 0.6 mol/L Na2SO4 solution is used as the electrolyte, and the glass-carbon electrode is the working electrode.In-situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (in-situ DRIFTS) was characterized on an INVENIOS type infrared spectrometer (Bruker AG, Germany).

Before characterization, the samples were purged in a 30 mL/min Ar atmosphere at room temperature for 20 min, then heated to 280 °C at a rate of 10 °C/min, and then the background spectrum was scanned, the mixture (V(H2)/V(CO)/V(Ar) = 2/1/3) was switched, and the total gas flow rate was maintained at 30 mL/min, and the spectra were recorded with the reaction time. The cyclic voltammetry (CV) test was performed using a CHI760E cyclic voltammetry with 10 mg of catalyst added to 950 uL of water and ethanol prior to characterization, followed by 50 μL of Nafion solution and sonication for 15 minutes.

After that, 10 μL of the sample was dropped onto a clean glass-carbon electrode and dried at room temperature. The platinum electrode is the counter-electrode, the reference electrode is the Ag/AgCl electrode, the electrolyte is 0.1 mol/LH2SO4, the CO flow rate is 10 mL/min, the test voltage range is -0.2~1.0 V, and the sweep speed is 50mV/s.Hall effect test uses a Hall effect tester, equipped with a thermostat, variable temperature thermostat, commutable permanent magnet magnet, etc., and uses a known Hall probe to calibrate the magnetic field at 280 °C to determine the strength of the magnetic field.

Metal electrodes are applied to four different locations of the sample and fixed on the probe station. Adjust the sample current to measure the Hall voltage. Four measurements were taken in the direction of the current and the direction of the magnetic field between the different electrodes to eliminate side effects.
