Samples were also analysed by Kjeldahl analysis and x-ray elemental analysis. General observations of red-brown algal felts cover from year to year was recorded. Collembolans and mites on water surfaces and underneath damp rocks were collected, dried and weighed. The samples were analysed by Kjeldahl for nitrogen content.
