TRPV1 Is Critical for Generating Immediate Apneic Response to Fentanyl
The Dataset from our study reveal that the apneic response is facilitated by systemic activation of TRPV1, but nearly blocked by antagonism of these receptors. Particularly, MORs and TRPV1 are co-expressed in vagal sensory afferents and their local interaction play a key role in generating the fentanyl-induced apnea.
