Gene expression analysis of cancer-associated fibroblasts from scirrhous gastric cancers and non-scirrhous gastric cancers

Scirrhous gastric cancer has aggressive clinical courses and is characterized by dominating cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs).

Description

We here aimed to explore the molecular basis for scirrhous CAFs and their origin. The aggressive phenotype of scirrhous CAFs were associated with activation of TGFβ1 and NF-kB, along with increased expression of their downstream genes.
