Correlation between TCM syndrome types and tumor proteome in colorectal cancer

Listed in ScienceDB

This dataset contains TMT-based quantitative proteomics data generated from resected tumor tissues of colorectal cancer patients with Qi-Blood Deficiency Syndrome (QBDS) and Damp-Heat Syndrome (DHS).

Description

Patients were enrolled between September 2020 and October 2021 at the Department of Colorectal and Anal Surgery, 940th Hospital of the PLA Joint Logistic Support Force, Lanzhou, China. All patients had a preoperative pathological diagnosis of colorectal cancer and underwent surgical resection.

TCM syndrome differentiation was performed according to the 2008 Clinical Guidelines for Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology. Tumor tissue samples were collected after surgical resection. A total of 10 patients were included, comprising 5 patients with Qi-Blood Deficiency Syndrome and 5 patients with Damp-Heat Syndrome.

Proteins were extracted, reduced, alkylated, and digested with trypsin, and the resulting peptides were labeled with tandem mass tag (TMT) reagents. The labeled peptides were pooled, fractionated, and analyzed on an Orbitrap Fusion Lumos mass spectrometer coupled with high-resolution liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS). Raw mass spectrometry data were processed for protein identification and quantification.

The dataset includes raw MS files and processed protein/peptide quantification results. Temporal coverage: September 2020 to October 2021. Spatial coverage: Lanzhou, Gansu Province, China.

Spatial and temporal resolutions are not applicable. These data were used to elucidate the biological underpinnings of Qi-Blood Deficiency Syndrome and Damp-Heat Syndrome in colorectal cancer, facilitating integrated Chinese-Western approaches to cancer research.Data ownership and copyright: This dataset and all associated works are 100% original. The dataset has been approved for public sharing.
