An Empirical Study of Implementing Total Quality Management in Higher Education-- A Case Study of Tamkang University

Tamkang University is the first institution which introduced TQM to its managerial system, coordinating TQM with it\'s bureaucratic, collegial, and political models of governance in Taiwan. The purpose of this empirical research is to examine how Tamkang University implement Total Quality Management in administrative affairs.

This study focuses on improvement in administrative and staff functions, such as registration, student housing, food services, finance, library, and general affairs. These operations are similar in many respects to those of a business firm. Data for this study will be collected using a survey questionnaire to administrators and staff members in Tamkang University.
