Effect of extracellular fluid viscosity in macrophages

Listed in NCBI GEO

Extracellular fluid (ECF) viscosity as a novel and vital mechanical cue in TME.

Description

However, it remains elusive how immune cells, particularly macrophages, respond to a hyperviscous TME. Macrophages likely perceive changes in fluid viscosity as a mechanical stress at the cell membrane, which be transduced into intracellular signals.

To investigate the mechanisms underlying macrophage responses to extracellular fluid viscosity, the whole-transcriptome RNA sequencing on RAW264.7 macrophages cultured in low and high viscosity were performed.
