Description
Lesson recordings for Grade 11 Life Sciences term 3 topics of population ecology were taken and transcribed. Stimulated recall interviews for the teachers were also transcribed.
The Gauteng Department of Education approved data collection in the classroom. Using a qualitative multiple case-study design, three teachers were sampled as participants. The teaching transcripts were analysed using analysing talk moves, teacher discursive moves, and analysing student talk frameworks.
