Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNST) are rare and aggressive soft tissue sarcomas that are typically therapy resistant.
Description
Mutations of genes involved in the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), an important modulator of transcriptional repression, occur in up to 75% of MPNST cases. In normal cells, PRC2 has an antagonistic regulatory relationship with the SWI/SNF epigenetic regulating complexes at target loci.
This dynamic relationship is important to regulation of ordered cellular development and maintenance of cell identity. The consequences of PRC2 loss on the chromatin state maintained by SWI/SNF in MPNST is unexplored. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the role of SWI/SNF in MPNST. <br><br><i>Thesis is embargoed until 31 July 2028</i>.<br><br>
