Human embryonic stem cell-derived hepatic organoids support HBV infection

Listed in NCBI GEO

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a global health challenge, and physiologically relevant human liver models that fully support HBV infection and replication in vitro are valuable for studying viral persistence and host responses.

Description

In this study, we used a previously reported human embryonic stem cell-derived hepatic organoid platform and validated that it robustly supports productive HBV infection. To characterize the host transcriptional landscape during infection, we performed transcriptome-wide RNA sequencing of infected and uninfected organoids.
