Choosing one's own learning path: the agency of Grade 11 students in schools with Estonian and Russian instructional language

This dataset is part of my postdoctoral research project: "Understanding the concept of student agency among Estonian and Russian-speaking students: What is the experience and attitude of students towards agency in upper secondary schools in Estonia?" funded by the Estonian Research Council, Grant number PUTJD1031.
Description
The data were collected in Spring 2022 from 399 students in upper secondary schools, in grade 11 in Estonia and included data from 234 students from schools with Estonian and 165 students with Russian instructional language from various schools across Estonia.
The data set involves a new student agency scale involving four factors: Agentic Engagement, Resistant Agency, Teacher Agency Support, and Perseverance. Further, the data involves a School Climate scale (Student-Teacher Relationships, Student Relationships and Interpersonal Justice), questions about school choice, the future plans of students (open-ended question) and demographic questions about gender, instructional language, and students' socio-economic status.
