scRNA-seq of bone marrow uncovers the regulatory effect of bone marrow microenvironment on osteoporosis

Listed in NCBI GEO

We have employed a single cell sequencing approach using SeekOne Genomics and Illumina Noveseq X plus platform to study the regulatory effect of bone marrow microenvironment on osteoporosis.

Description

Bone marrow is indispensable for skeletal development, bone remodeling, and the pathogenesis of osteoporosis. It serves not only as a reservoir of osteogenic and osteoclastic precursor cells, but also as a highly specialized microenvironment that directly interfaces with bone tissue.

The bone marrow niche comprises diverse hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cell populations, which collectively regulate skeletal homeostasis through extensive intercellular communication. This study reveals the heterogeneity of cellular composition and functional differences in the bone marrow niche, as well as their distinct contributions to the progression of osteoporosis.
