Unmasking the self: exploring autistic adolescents' experiences of drama and its impact on wellbeing

Parent perspectives echoed these positive experiences, highlighting the impact of drama on their children's social skills, self-efficacy and emotional expression. Both groups of participants raised concerns regarding marginalisation, bullying and societal pressures. The findings highlight the importance of reasonable adjustments and tailored support to facilitate positive educational experiences, positioning<br>drama as a meaningful and beneficial subject for this population.

Additionally, the research advocates for a shift in perspective towards celebrating neurodiversity and recognising the unique skills and talents of this population. The findings are discussed in the context of relevant theoretical perspectives and existing literature, offering practical recommendations for Educational Psychologists and suggestions for future research.
