Spatial transcriptomics of early-grade Huntington’s disease and control Caudate

Listed in NCBI GEO

The molecular mechanisms that underlie striatal subregional and cell subtype-specific vulnerabilities and the cascade of molecular events occurring during Huntington’s disease remain poorly defined.

Description

Visium HD spatial transcriptomics was applied in early-grade Huntington’s disease Caudate and a pathologically-normal control. These data validate findings of cell type diversity (i.e. cholinergic and striosomal specialization), and define Huntington’s disease-associated changes in cell abundance, gene expression, and MSN de-repression.
