Biomarkers in the Diagnostic Algorithm of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

The dataset contains demographic and clinical information from 134 ME/CFS patients and 54 healthy controls, including age, gender, and the course of the disease. It also includes data on latent and active infection markers of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7), and parvovirus B19 (B19V), determined in peripheral blood samples using molecular (PCR) and serological (ELISA) methods.

Immunological data comprise plasma levels of IFN-γ, IL-17A, IL-2, IL-21, IL-23, IL-6, and TNF-α measured using Luminex multiplex technology, as well as concentrations of activin B and autoantibodies against β2-adrenergic receptors (β2-AdR) and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors M3 and M4 (M3/M4-AChR) determined by ELISA. Molecular data include the expression levels of circulating microRNAs hsa-miR-448, hsa-miR-124-3p, hsa-miR-551b-3p, hsa-miR-127-3p, hsa-miR-142-5p, hsa-miR-143-3p, hsa-miR-140-5p, hsa-miR-150-5p, hsa-miR-361-5p, and hsa-miR-186-5p, analysed by quantitative real-time PCR in RNA extracted from plasma samples.
