Cryptography-Based Mathematics Instruction: Anonymized Quantitative Dataset

The Digital Security Literacy instrument contained 21 items. Items 1 and 12 were excluded from final construct scoring, resulting in 19 scored items.</p><p dir="ltr">The cognitive test assessed modular arithmetic, matrix representation, and Caesar/Vigenère cipher encryption and decryption. The overall cognitive score was recorded on a 0–100 scale, with three supporting indicators scored on a 0–4 rubric.</p><p dir="ltr">Participant identifiers in the dataset are represented using anonymized participant codes rather than participant names.</p><p dir="ltr">Qualitative interview transcripts, recordings, and related interview materials are not included in this dataset and are not publicly shared because they contain privacy-sensitive information, potentially identifiable information, and participants’ personal opinions or experiences.

These qualitative materials are therefore treated as restricted research data.</p><p dir="ltr">A README and data codebook are included with the dataset to document the study design, participant coding, variable structure, scoring rules, analytical sample, and data-privacy considerations.</p>
