Anthropogenic management shapes warming-induced soil organic carbon loss across warming magnitude and durations
How warming magnitude, duration, and anthropogenic management interactively regulate SOC and its functional fractions remains globally uncertain. We conducted a global meta-analysis of 1,038 observations from 99 warming studies to quantify responses of total SOC, SOC fractions, soil ecological functions, and physicochemical properties.

EXPLORING THE POTENTIAL OF A “MICROBIAL HANDSHAKE” THROUGH SHARED COMMUNITIES OF CASH AND COVER CROPS IN CORN-SOYBEAN ROTATIONS IN A COMMON GARDEN GREENHOUSE EXPERIMENT
Cover cropping offers several benefits to farmers, but many accrue slowly, so cost-benefit analyses can appear unfavorable in the short term. One potentially unquantified benefit is the capacity of cover crops to sustain plant-growth-promoting microbes that the following cash crop can recruit, a process we frame as a “microbial handshake.” We asked whether the rhizosphere and root bac

Variation in Soil Microbial Nutrient Limitation and Carbon Use Efficiency and Their Driving Mechanisms in Riparian Wetlands
Riparian wetlands are subject to periodic hydrological disturbances that cause pronounced fluctuations in soil resource availability and redox conditions, which, in turn, influence microbial resource acquisition and carbon allocation. However, patterns of microbial resource limitation and carbon use efficiency (CUE), together with their underlying driving mechanisms, remain unclear. I

Changes in soil nematodes across altitudinal gradients
Our results showed divergent elevational patterns among different climatic zones. Soil nematode species abundance and the Shannon-Wiener diversity decreased significantly with increasing elevation in the subtropics, but increased substantially in the warm-temperate zone. In the cold-temperate region, species abundance enhanced with elevation, while the Shannon–Wiener diversity showed
